The “Fin” is a 174 Unit and 562 bed Student Housing apartment complex located on over 7 acres in Boone, North Carolina just off the campus Appalachian State University comprised of a mix of 1, 2, and 4-bedroom units, clubhouse/ leasing office, mini storage commercial space and for rent office space. Construction consists of a mixture of 4-story wood and light gauge framing over an 80,000 SF cast-in-place concrete podium. Amenities at Connect Boone will include elevated amenities deck with hot tub, outdoor kitchen and bar, green roof, modern fitness center with mountain climbing machine, style lounges, and a study/ computer lab. Resident units are equipped with “smart” technology including Echo Dots, smart televisions, Bluetooth-operated access control, fully integrated building access control, modern cabinetry, quartz countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and modern furnishings and fixtures.

Derrick Jenkins started with Southern Building Group in August 2016 as Superintendent over (Phases 1 and 2) of Autumn Wood Apartments Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He then oversaw the Traditions of Smyrna Assisted Living and Sterling Apartments projects, both in Smyrna Tennessee.
In October 2020, Derrick transitioned into Project Manager for SBG, overseeing Sterling at Nashville West, on Charlotte Pike in Nashville.
Derrick hails from Hendersonville, Tennessee. He is a Middle Tennessee State University graduate and now resides in Chapel Hill, Tennessee with his wife Miranda and daughters Mattie and Eliza.

Sterling at Nashville West is a 298-unit, luxury, urban multi-family community located in Nashville’s up-and-coming West Nashville community. This community consists of a mix of one, two, three-bedroom, loft, and penthouse units, a modern clubhouse, detached garage buildings, and resort-style pool and pool deck, fitness center, and sauna. The Sterling at Nashville West is scheduled to complete its mark on Nashville West’s skyline in Q2 of 2022.
