Opportunity to Serve

Southern Building Group has recently partnered with Isaiah 117 House. On October 9, 2020 we were delighted to be a part of their groundbreaking ceremony.
When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children’s Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. We are working with some of our resources and volunteers to help build their next home in Monteagle, Tennessee.
We appreciate the opportunity to serve by donating building materials and labor to help make the newest Isaiah 117 House, located in Monteagle, Tennessee a reality. We have also reached out to several of our subcontractors and suppliers that will also be contributing their time and materials.
It is an honor to be a part of this great foundation.

Jobsite Outreach

On September 17, 2020, we held our 3nd Quarter Jobsite Outreach for The Finmore in Boone, NC jobsite. Lunch was provided by SBG for all our Subcontractors and Employees onsite. Bibles were given to workers to take home. We had ministers travel with us that gave a message to workers during lunch. It was an awesome day.
Jobsite Outreach

SBG’s Ministry Board held its first jobsite outreach events in July 2020 . The first was at Sterling Stonecrest Apartments in Smyrna, Tennessee as the project was nearing completion. The second in Boone, North Carolina where our Student Housing project for Appalachian State is in the framing stage. Both events were a great success. Lunch was provided by SBG for all our Subcontractors and Employees onsite. Bibles were given to workers to take home. SBG hopes to continue its outreach efforts at jobsites each quarter.
